Frequently asked questions

What does a proper painting job include?
A large part of the work is preparation: repairing, filling, sealing and priming before applying the finish coats with products suited to each surface, interior or exterior. A finish lasts when the preparation has been done carefully.
Does painting cover damp?
Paint can improve the appearance for a while, but if the underlying cause of the damp has not been resolved it tends to come back: paint addresses the symptom, not the cause. When damp is present, it is worth identifying the source first; we cover this in the guide on damp at home.
How often does a façade need repainting?
There is no single rule: it depends on exposure, materials and the condition of the surface. A façade protects the building, and it is worth inspecting it when cracks, flaking or fading appear. We assess this on a case-by-case basis, often requiring safe access.
What interior finishes can I choose?
There are different finishes and quality levels depending on the room and its use. We can guide you on options suited to each surface, but the final choice is yours. What we do take care of is ensuring the preparation and application match the standard of the finish chosen.
Is painting the last step in a renovation?
Often yes, because it is one of the final finishes, but it is worth planning it from the start so it can be coordinated with the other trades. That avoids touch-ups and protects work that has already been completed.
