What it involves

A floor lasts when the base is done properly. Before anything is laid, we prepare the substrate: the screed or levelling layer that brings the floor to the right level, the build-ups and joints that leave a flat, level surface. On that base we lay the chosen material — ceramic or porcelain tiles, microcement, timber or other finishes — with care given to finishes and transitions. There is no single best material for everyone: the right choice depends on the room, the use and the maintenance.

Frequently asked questions

What types of flooring do you lay?
We work with ceramic and porcelain tiles, microcement and continuous finishes, parquet and engineered timber, both indoors and outside. Each material has its advantages depending on the use, the room and the maintenance. We can help you find your bearings, but the final choice is adapted to your situation.
Why is the base so important?
Because a floor lasts when the base is done properly. The screed or levelling layer must be flat, clean, dry and at the right level; if the substrate is not, problems can appear over time. That is why we prepare the base — screeds, build-ups and joints — and respect the curing times before laying the material.
Can a new floor be laid on top of the existing one?
Sometimes yes and sometimes no: it depends on the condition of the existing floor, the floor heights and the transitions at doors and adjoining rooms. We assess this case by case; in some situations it is better to remove the old floor to ensure a good result.
Is there one flooring material that is better than all the others?
There is no universally better material: each option has advantages and limitations depending on use, foot traffic, moisture and maintenance. The most suitable is the one that fits your room and your needs, not the same answer for everyone.
Can flooring be included within a renovation?
Yes, and it is the most common approach. We coordinate the flooring with the rest of the build — plumbing, painting, skirtings and trim — so the transitions are clean. We define the scope and an indicative quote before starting.
